Snowmoving Professionals

  1. The Minneapolis-St. Paul airport has rarely been closed for more than an hour or two since the 1950s. Wind and visibility can be problems but the runways are always open.

Lots of people here in Minnesota take inordinate pride in their abilities to move snow around. Such people make excellent neighbors. And the guys who plow for the municipalities are so good at what they do, its like the roads are cleared by magic.

In fact, I believe that one of the reasons the peoples of the north assign more tasks to governments is because their governments prove their competence coping with winter.

  2. We're not quite as skilled down here. With all the budget cuts and tax cuts putting pressure on local resources, the county has tried to minimize man hours, and travel conditions show it.
